JOB SUMMARY:

The Logistics Director, VinFast North America is responsible for leading and overseeing the inbound / outbound transportation of finished vehicles & parts distribution center (PDC) across the United States and Canada, ensuring seamless coordination, compliance, and efficiency in support of business objectives. This role will be responsible for timely delivery of goods to open yards, stores, service centers, and ports by utilizing partner carriers while ensuring trade compliance. The Director will serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues while also supporting cross-functional teams and dealer networks and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Responsibilities & Key Activities

  • Plan and Monitor Logistics Operations – Oversee open yard, warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and supply chain processes, for both vehicles and parts.
  • Develop and Implement Strategies - Streamline processes and reduce costs while ensuring service quality, customer satisfaction, and financial commitments are met.
  • Metrics Reporting and Data Analysis - Identify issues and opportunities for process improvements through performance metrics and data analysis.
  • Partner and Communicate with Stakeholders - Maintain effective communication with manufacturers, suppliers, showrooms, and service centers.
  • Budget Management - Create and manage the department budget.
  • Supervise Warehousing Activities - Oversee LSP warehousing productivity, process organization, and stock accuracy, including KPI control and reporting.
  • Claims Management - Manage transportation claims promptly and effectively, and ensure the claims process is correctly followed.
  • Analyze and Improve Carrier Performance - Assess carrier performance in terms of damages and on-time deliveries and develop countermeasures and improvement plans.
  • In charge of bidding packages - Conduct RFPs in collaboration with Procurement department for all logistics-related vendors.
  • Manage all Trade Compliance and Customs-related transactions - import/export shipments, and support with the import/export/scrapping of pre-production units, vehicle and/or parts return
  • Support VinFast North Carolina Manufacturing with Logistics - setup, Foreign Trade Zone and other analysis; Assist business stakeholders with logistics functions.

Supervision

Directly supervises and manages the North America Logistics and Parts team. Provides leadership, coaching, and development for team members.

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, transportation, or engineering
  • 10+ years of work experience in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations in North America
  • Must have a strong understanding of supply chain, inventory, distribution, as well as logistics industry, as well as knowledge of tariffs and processing procedure for Temporary Importation Bond (TIB)
  • Experience in the automobile industry is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites; Experience and warehouse management systems (WMS) knowledge a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of management
  • Ability to leverage experience to solve "start-up" problems and adapt to changing conditions
  • Able to travel internationally (USA, Canada…) as business requires

Pay Transparency

VinFast Auto is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. The salary range for this role is $160,000-$190,000.
