Responsibilities:

As a Technical Sales Representative for our company, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth by selling semi-technical steel “wear solution” plates to clients within the mining industry. Your responsibilities will include cultivating new business relationships, manage existing accounts, and providing technical expertise to support our clients' needs. You will have sales targets and KPI’s based on historical business and growth targets.

Prospect and Acquire New Clients:

  • I dentify and pursue new business opportunities within the mining sector (a focus on areas where we offer wear solutions to reduce clients’ ultimate costs).
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through effective lead generation and networking. The use of onsite trials is a key component in demonstrating our products' benefits.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing clients (Mine Owners / Design Consultants / EPC’s / OEM’s and Service Contractors) to understand their ongoing wear solution needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • You will deal in and feel comfortable in both white/blue-collar environments.

Technical Expertise:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our semi-technical steel plate products and their applications in the mining industry. Metallurgist knowledge or fabrication or welding background are useful but not essential.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to clients, demonstrating the value of our products.

Sales Presentations and Demonstrations:

  • Deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients, showcasing the benefits and features of our steel plates.

  • Conduct product demonstrations and technical sessions to educate clients on the use and advantages of our products.

  • Ensure that wider Vulcan product range is promoted as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably within the mining or industrial services and OEM sector.
  • Familiarity with technical products marketing, particularly steel (Q and T / Hard faced / Clad) plates, is highly advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel (Mine sites – regional areas)
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Self-motivated and driven to treat the role and your own business.
