We are seeking a diligent and eager Travel Mechanic to join our dynamic team within the Custom Automation industry. In this role, you will be instrumental in the assembly, installation, and initial troubleshooting of bespoke automation solutions at diverse client sites across the country. As a Travel Mechanic, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience working with various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical assembly and installation of custom automation equipment at client facilities.
  • Assist senior technicians in the setup, testing, and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Conduct basic diagnostic troubleshooting to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs as directed.
  • Document work performed, including part usage and service hours.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and site-specific regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment on client premises.

Recommended Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Vocational training or an Associate's Degree in Industrial Mechanics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly or maintenance, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively (up to 75%, including overnight stays).
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.
  • Familiarity with basic industrial control systems or PLCs for diagnostic purposes.
  • Previous experience in a field service or travel-based role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
