Position title: Project Engineering Manager

Reports to: Program Manager

Summary:

The Project Engineering Manager supervises and implements the design, planning, and management of projects for aerospace products. Manges the implementation and development phases necessary to complete projects. Provides leadership and communications for ensuring the efficient operations of teams. The successful candidate will be customer-oriented, and task driven from the safe completion of simple and complex activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages all implementation and development phases including SRR, PDR, CDR, Qualification and Production
  • Support proposal activities and manage internal research and development efforts as assigned.
  • Creates long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Delegates tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
  • Makes effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project.
  • Serves as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
  • Communicates with executives to keep projects aligned with their goals.
  • Performs quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the expected standards.
  • Adjusts schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change.
  • Remains cognizant of current projects, continually prioritizes by importance, maintains effective time management skills daily, ensuring all statuses are up-to-date, and ensures accurate communication is made to the appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for exercising tact and professionalism when problem-solving and resolving conflicts
  • Maintains a willingness to take corrective actions to fix mistakes. address complaints, or otherwise improve the experience, both internally and externally.
  • Oversight of junior team members.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in one of the following areas: Project Management, program management, or manufacturing and product testing.

Required Skills:

  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications, compile specifications, research applicable codes, state and federal laws and regulations and manufacturer's literature.
  • Must be organized and have the ability to achieve specified goals and objectives by properly managing the efforts of subordinates and associated team members.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter who maintains a friendly, courteous, and compassionate demeaner at all times.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good listening and presentation skills.
  • Must have outstanding time management skills
  • Must have the ability to multitask and manage multiple simultaneous projects.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ERP Systems (Microsoft Nav, SAP, etc.)
  • Experience with AS9100D Quality Management System policies and procedures
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, etc.).

Education

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited university in an Engineering Discipline. (M.S. preferred.)

Preferred Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

ITAR Requirements: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Other Requirements:

  • All applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must use personal mobile device for multi-factor authentication (MFA) for system access. This authenticates your identity.
  • Must be willing to use personal mobile device for Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams apps, in exchange for a mobile device stipend.

Compensation:

Salary Range : $134,600.00 to $151,400.00 annually

Medical Benefits : Company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance, which includes one hundred percent (100%) coverage for the employee and fifty percent (50%) coverage for dependents

Retirement Benefits : Company 401k retirement plan, where the company will match up to four percent (4%) of employee contributions, subject to plan terms and conditions.

Insurance Benefits: $15,000 in company-paid life insurance

Other Benefits : Two (2) weeks of annual vacation, five (5) days of sick leave, and eleven (11) annual government holidays.
