Injection Mold Tooling Specialist — Canton, NC (Day Shift)

What will I do?

• Read job specs to determine machine adjustments and material needs.
• Set up, run, and maintain manual mills, lathes, and surface grinders for tooling fabrication, modification, and repair.
• Interpret blueprints and CAD models to define machining steps and tolerances.
• Perform precision machining that meets exact dimensional and surface finish targets.
• Adjust machines/fixtures using scales, rules, calipers, micrometers, and thread or plug gauges.
• Follow the molding schedule; execute insert changes and ensure tooling readiness.
• Observe running molds to identify tooling issues or machine malfunctions early.
• Measure mold and part dimensions to confirm machining accuracy.
• Complete daily crane and lifting equipment inspections.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on molds and tools.

What qualifications are required?

• High school diploma or GED.
• One-year certificate from a college or technical school plus three years of machine shop experience (required). Equivalent education/experience combinations considered.
• Hands-on ability with surface grinders, lathes, and mills.
• Comfort operating overhead cranes and a forklift.
• Capability to follow instructions, read micrometers, and understand CAD drawings/blueprints.
