Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Designer childrenswear for a top fashion company in New York, New York. This is 2 month freelance opportunity and operates on a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Execute design development process from concept to delivery

• Update and manage tech packs and BOMs
  Research and identify new trends in the market

• Perform competitive analysis and review design concepts

• Create designs according to sales needs and assortment plans, and execute timely production according to calendar

• Develop sketches in Illustrator and review spec and line sheets

• Approve lab dips with design team

• Participate in  fit sessions

• Collaborate and build relationships with vendors  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in fashion design

• 1-2 years experience in apparel design

• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

• Strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

• Detail-oriented, creative, and meticulous 

• Ability to sketch

• Extensive knowledge of pattern making and garment construction, as well as sewing techniques, colorways, and silhouettes

• Childrenswear experience is a plus

• Proficient in MS Office, Adobe, CAD, and Mac computers
