Job Title: Fleet Branch Manager

Location:  Greenbelt, Maryland

Job Type: Part-time to Full-time

Reports To: Operations Coordinator 

Salary: $20.00-$23.50 Per Hour

 

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Fleet Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our vehicle fleet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet of vehicles is maintained, compliant with regulations, and operating efficiently. You will play a key role in managing vehicle maintenance schedules, cost control, and safety standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Operations Management: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and scheduling of the company’s fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are available, properly maintained, and meet the operational requirements of the business.

  • Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure timely maintenance, repairs, and inspections of all fleet vehicles to minimize downtime and prevent operational disruptions.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the fleet budget, including costs for fuel, maintenance, repairs, licensing, and insurance. Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising vehicle safety or performance.

  • Fleet Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze the performance of the fleet, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fuel efficiency, downtime, and vehicle usage.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all fleet vehicles comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety, emissions, and licensing requirements.

  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors for vehicle repairs, insurance, and other services. Negotiate contracts and ensure service levels are met.

  • Driver Management: Oversee driver safety and performance, ensuring that drivers follow proper procedures and maintain safety standards. Provide training and ensure that drivers have the necessary certifications.

  • Fleet Reporting: Generate regular reports on fleet operations, including maintenance schedules, fuel usage, accidents, and overall fleet efficiency.

     

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (4+ years) as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role in fleet management.

  • Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and cost management.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance.

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interact with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in fleet management (e.g., Certified Automotive Fleet Manager - CAFM).

  • Experience in managing a large fleet across multiple locations.

  • Experience with fuel management and route optimization systems.​​​​​​​​​​​​



 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to visit and inspect vehicles, as well as oversee maintenance facilities and operations.

  • Occasional travel to various fleet locations may be required.
