Job Description

The Equipment Maintenance and Line Setting Technician enables the success and uninterrupted output of manufacturing operations by maintaining a focus on uptime of manufacturing equipment and tooling. The roles and responsibilities of the position are:

  • Provides daily support to manufacturing.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Ability to use standardized tools and electronic measuring equipment (i.e., torque wrenches, electric and pneumatic screwdrivers and ball drivers, lifting equipment) to install/remove or perform testing and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Ability to set up, change and dismantle manufacturing lines based upon changing production needs.
  • Quickly respond to equipment failures: by troubleshooting and resolving the issue quickly and/or escalating it to management.
  • Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to do parts fabrication to temporarily/permanently repair equipment if necessary.
  • Interface with the production personnel and Management to continually suggest improvements to production processes.
  • May perform equipment modifications approved by Management.
  • May train others on test processes and troubleshooting.
  • Works with management to enforce safety and security procedures.
  • Proficient in determining the nature of a production problem; evaluate resources; coordinate with available personnel to achieve a desirable outcome.
  • Familiarity with PLC logic and automated control systems is a plus.
  • Comply and enforce company’s/ OSHA’s Lock-out Tag-out procedures and all pertinent safety instructions, fully understanding Safety Data Sheets and OSHA’s Hazard Communication System.
  • Comply with applicable FDA and international regulatory laws and standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and experience

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • An Associate's Degree in a technical or scientific field is highly desired.
  • Requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in related fields (cGMP production facilities preferred).
  • Requires demonstrated skill in manufacturing small parts and assembly in a clean room environment.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA’s Lock-out Tag-out procedures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly skilled with use of tools and equipment (e.g. voltage and current probes, multimeters, and electro/ mechanical tools); 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to work in a team environment.
  • Competency to give feedback and corrective criticism to peers and supported customers.
  • Ability to read and understand business documents such as Bill of Materials, routing sheets, inventory records and work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, mechanical drawings and procedures.
