Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for highly motivated Entry Level Construction Inspector for SCDOT projects in the Myrtle Beach, SC region. 

Responsibilities include:

• Inspect Transportation Construction Projects: Ensure all work and materials meet project plans, proposals, and specifications
• Perform Key Measurements & Calculations: Verify weights, volumes, and measurements to ensure accuracy
• Prepare “As-Built” Documentation: Plot and run cross sections, and document project progress
• Conduct Materials Testing: Ensure materials meet quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
• Daily Documentation: Record all inspection activities and findings in detailed reports
• Work Outdoors: Enjoy the variety of working in different weather conditions and environments
• Physical Responsibilities: Be prepared for heavy lifting and manual tasks as part of the inspection process
• Possible Travel Across the State: Visit construction sites across the state, ensuring every project is up to code
• Independent Work: Take ownership of your tasks and work with minimal supervision
• Flexible Hours & Travel: Expect extended hours and occasional overnight stays as part of the role

A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• An associate Degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred, but we will consider applicants who have experience in roadway construction, paving operations, pipe installation and are comfortable interacting with contractors, clients, and the general public.
