Basic Function

Provides technical support to the Technical Support department. Primary responsibilities include assisting in the operations of the Integrated Defense Solutions. The candidate will work with the Manager to support the organization, cleanliness and maintenance of the department, and the department’s general operations. This position may perform technically based tasks and laboratory experimentation according to established protocols and SOPs.

Nature and Scope

This position reports to the Capability Manager and may receive direction from other staff with the department. This position is expected to work on tasks both independently and as a team member with other technical and administrative staff at all levels. The position works under general supervision and is able to identify and evaluate alternatives and take appropriate courses of action.

Essential Functions

• Interacts with colleagues and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provides technical and general support to the department.
• Ability to effectively communicate expectations, assess client needs, gain acceptance of an idea/plan/activity/product, and interact with technical staff at all levels in a team-based environment.
• Well organized and methodical, yet flexible in adjusting priorities, and able to take risks to accomplish goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current student working towards or has achieved a high school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent OR undergraduate student pursuing Bachelor’s degree.
• Coursework in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.
