Summary:
Fabricates and assembles aircraft furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies using blueprints, engineering drawings, and aircraft specifications.
The role involves working under general supervision to ensure high-quality craftsmanship, safety, and productivity while assisting with process improvements.
Required Skills:
High School Diploma or GED.
Basic knowledge of cabinetmaking processes, tools, and materials.
2+ years of cabinetmaking experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
Proficient in using stationary and hand-held power tools.
Physically able to climb ladders, work in restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
Computer literacy and experience with material tracking systems.
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
Desired Skills:
Experience in the aerospace industry.
Familiarity with inspection and process specifications.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement techniques.
Experience applying surface materials such as laminates and veneers.
