Job Overview

The Accounting Manager at Delasco is responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable laws, regulations, and agreements, such as bank covenants. This role includes managing the monthly close process and producing financial statements, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the company's accounting practices and records. The Accounting Manager will lead the accounting team and collaborate with other departments to support Delasco's financial goals and maintain effective internal controls.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounting records, prepare financial statements, and submit on-time filings with accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal control procedures.
  • Manage development and delivery of financial, managerial, and operational reporting.
  • Manage, supervise, and develop the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
  • Support the executive team in developing the annual budget and forecast assumptions.
  • Respond to requests and prepare supporting documentation for annual audit and tax return.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Apply the principles of continuous quality improvement in the delivery of services, through assessment and monitoring of financial processes and systems.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes, providing financial analysis and projections.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and oversee treasury functions.
  • Implement and maintain financial systems and software, ensuring data integrity and security.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Applied working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Committed to the ethical standards of a CPA.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decisive leadership.
  • Superior time management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics GP), and financial modeling.
  • Effective team leadership and management abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, with a preference for Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • CPA required/strongly preferred
  • 5+ years minimum of accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • 2+ years minimum management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Avalara Avatax strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience with various HRIS/Payroll systems preferred. Audit and tax process experience valued
