A growing organization in the aerospace and engineering industry is seeking an Accountant to join their team and help us streamline and enhance our accounting processes. This position offers a professional office environment where you can showcase your expertise while working closely with a supportive team.
Position Summary
As an Accountant, you will examine, analyze, interpret, and process accounting records to prepare accurate financial statements. You will also play a key role in implementing and improving accounting procedures to increase efficiency. This position is on-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Primary Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Office Manager, you will:
• Record day-to-day transactions within the accounting system.
• Process accounts receivable transactions and prepare invoices with supporting reports.
• Process accounts payable transactions and prepare payments.
• Maintain, track, and receive shipments for open purchase orders.
• Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing in ADP.
• Prepare month-end and year-end adjustments.
• Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts monthly.
• Track and maintain the fixed asset listing.
• Organize and file correspondence and accounting documentation.
• Complete other miscellaneous tasks as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Familiarity with accounting, timekeeping and payroll processing systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• Excellent computer skills and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently as a dependable self-starter.
• Commitment to upholding a professional office environment.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in an accounting related position (AP, AR, or Accounting Clerk, etc.
