Job Summary: The Department of Anthropology at SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for part-time adjunct faculty openings. The department hires adjunct faculty to teach classroom-based courses for the subject areas listed below. This list is not all inclusive, and other courses/subject areas may become available. The potential for an adjunct to offer a hybrid or online course varies but is typically rare.
  • Introductory survey to Anthropology (three-field approach - Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology)
  • Introduction to a sub-field of Anthropology
  • Museum Studies
  • Cultural Resource Management


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Anthropology or a related field from an accredited US Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university or an appropriate level of experience commensurate with the adjunct lecturer responsibilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Anthropology or a related field from an accredited US Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
  • Significant teaching experience.

Salary and Benefits: $4500 for a 3 credit course
